Check it out - this webcam of the promenade and the pier does still work :)

Brighton - Town

Brighton - Beach Amusements

Still being astonished about having shops on the beach and a fair on a pier - seems to be typical english for me. But it is colourful, isn´t it?

Brighton - Beach Promenade

Colourful houses in small busy streets, interesting shopwindows and a long beach which offers everything in amusement one can wish - that is Brighton. I like this town on the southcoast of Sussex, so here are several posts and hundreds of pics - additional to all the other posts I already made last year :)
Anyhow, enjoy!

Brighton - Mods And Rockers

As I saw Quadrophenia for the first time several years ago, I didn´t really understand what it was about.
Then I started with my plan to make a journey to Brighton. A dear friend sent me this article and I did some researches.
The "Battle of Brighton" took place in the early sixties as two subcultures, the Mods and the Rockers met in Brighton, read about it here and here.

Brighton - The Beach

And down to Brighton Beach. It's nice on a work day in January :)

Watch the damaged West Pier here..

Brighton - Shop Windows

It's like paradise for my eyes!
Off course I took a lot of pics of the shop windows in The Lanes -
I collected them here for those who shares my taste :)

Brighton - The Lanes

It was a sunny and bright day, and I took the train towards Brighton.
