South Downs Way

The 160 Km long South Downs Way National Trail follows the old routes and droveways along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Downs. The sea is nearby and can be seen from parts of the trail. Here is a map with the heights of the route.
Unfortunately the weather was cloudy and rainy as I went, but it didn´t stop us breaking up with the dog for a three days walk with two nights of wild camping :)

From Pett Level to Hastings

I went for a walk along the cliffs and the nature reserve to Hastings. It was pouring down with rain for a while, but stopped just in time for a walk around in Hastings and it´s harbour.

Emptying The Dog, Pt15

Whilst walking through the landscapes of summer, watching the swifts hunting on the sky, and the far away deer, I had to say farewell to nature for a while.
I´m heading back to London and am going to catch a flight to Germany in the next days. Dusty streets and sleeping inside rooms - not what I prefer.
But I´ll be back. Soon :)

Emptying The Dog, Pt14

I have been on the beach for some days here in the south. Today it felt as if it was time to go with the dog into the landscape and watch how far the summer has come. I stole a lot of peas for a nice salad :)

Emptying the dog, Pt10

Another sunny day :) Went to check if the Bluebells had come any further.

Emptying the dog, Pt9

The weather is truly giving me compensation for the last year of rain - it is another sunny day here in England. It hasn´t been raining since 15 days :)
We took the bicycle in direction west to the nature reserve West Beach, Littlehampton.

Filling the dog :)

Anyhow - this post is part 8 of emptying the dog.
And I promise no animals were killed or injured - this fluffy little bunny was already dead.
Feel invited to go for a walk in the woods, and watch these carpets of Bluebells on this sunny day!

Emptying the dog, Pt6

Took the train from Victoria Station down to the south of England, to Angmering, I had to walk the dog :) It is spring here on the island, even if some old men told me this is the english summer. The weather is incredible, you don´t often see such a blue sky! And watch the trees, they are just getting their leaves, their branches seems to be black against the sky. Lambs, calves and dancing butterflies are around, a great time of the year.

Another Day Of Winter

Did hardly not believe what I saw as I looked out of the window. It was snowing again. Anyhow, I decided to take a walk along the river Weser and try out my new camera. One new automatic function is the possibility to make panorama pictures. To watch them big, click on the pics!

Emptying Dog, Pt4

It was a sunny day in Angmering, so we took the dog for a walk.
Straight on in directions south to the coast, turn to right and go straight ahead to Littlehampton.
I found loads of beach huts on my way and in the end a fish & chip shop. Yum! :)

Sunny Sunday Morning

It was a sunny sunday morning today, so I took my camera and went to the "Tier und Landschaftsprojekt in der Pauliner Marsch" not far away. A nice place to give Tiger, the cat, and the donkeys a stroke :)

London - Northern Heights Parkland Walk, Finsbury Park, Haringey

After two days cold and rain, the sun came out. I decided to walk the Northern Heights Parkland Walk from Alexandra Palace to Finsbury Park. This former railway track was built in order to serve Alexandra Palace, but missed joining the London's Underground in the Second World War.
This day started with sun and starlings were singing, feel invited to come with me for a walk!
