The next four posts will also show pictures from Stockholm. I´ve copied them from the pages of Stockholm Transport Museum and the Swedish National Heritage.

Mina Drömmars Stad - 18th Century
A friend of mine sent me two links with loads of old pictures (Stockholm Transport Museum and Swedish National Heritage). Still being in the mood of the book Mina Drömmars Stad I collectd all pictures taken in Stockholm - and there were many.
I start with those fotografies taken in the end of the 18th century - enjoy!

Per-Anders Fogelström - Mina Drömmars Stad
Per-Anders Fogelströms Mina Drömmars Stad was one of my favourite books as child. I learned a lot about my hometown Stockholm and the life of labourers it the end of the 18th century.
I am happy to have found a link where I can listen to the story once again, 50 years later ...
Here it is.

For The Young Bits In Old Women
I found one of my first records I had as young girl - listen to Ted Gärdestad.
I think I have to visit Sweden soon.

Saint Lucy's Day
The 13th of december is a day in Sweden for celebrating Sankta Lucia. The youth is wearing white long dresses, some girls are Lucia, they are carrying a wreath with light on the head. Early in the morning they go singing and serving breakfast, for example Lussebullar, for their parents and friends. This celebration is known since 1780. About hundred years earlier, the day before Lucia was known as the shortest day of the year.
