In Loving Memory - All´s Well

Since I have had contact with people from these Islands I understood that benches are something very important. Loads of  things in life happens here :)
As young you sit on them with your friends, drinking, listening to music and watching the girls/boys walking by.
As an adult you sit on them to rest whilst you are for a walk with your dog, or you meet up with strangers on a bench by the church :P
And when you are dead the members of your family will attach a badge on your favourite bench.
So my dear friends, grab your handkerchiefs, come with me and commemorate those who already left us.

Emptying The Dog By The Sea

With the bus to Littlehampton and back along the beach.

Early Mornings Long Walk

I wanted to walk early in the morning, and managed to be on my way at 8 am. Through the cold woods up to a hill with view as far as to the sea where I layed down for an hour in the morning sun.
Afterwards down to Patching and it´s church St. John the divine.
Thereafter over the fields, up to Highdown Hill and back to Angmering.
All in all 13 km walk - I felt quite exhausted after that :)

Emptying The Dog In The Woods

What to do on hot sunny days?
Go into the woods and cool down.

Brighton - The Old Pier

Check it out - this webcam of the promenade and the pier does still work :)

Brighton - Graffiti

I forgot to mention - Brighton is a great place to stroll around looking for new styles in graffiti, unfortuntly i have already seen the most of them. But there is somebody new since I´ve been there last ...

Brighton - Shopwindow

Brighton - Town

Brighton - Beach Amusements

Still being astonished about having shops on the beach and a fair on a pier - seems to be typical english for me. But it is colourful, isn´t it?

Brighton - Beach Promenade

Colourful houses in small busy streets, interesting shopwindows and a long beach which offers everything in amusement one can wish - that is Brighton. I like this town on the southcoast of Sussex, so here are several posts and hundreds of pics - additional to all the other posts I already made last year :)
Anyhow, enjoy!

Farmer´s Enemy

It is the midst of summer, the strawberries are ripe and the farmer is worried about them as well.
I met a bird hunter on the field, he had made some installations for attracting pigeons and had already been shooting birds since hours.

Give Peas A Chance :)

The farmers around Angmering have put fences around their fields with peas - no wonder, the peas tastes really good :)

My Favourite Walk Around Angmering

This post is part of Emptying The Dog and shows my favourite walk around Angmering in West Sussex.
The walk takes us over sunny fields to ponds, and over farmland to a space which reminds of a savannah from former times.

London - The Monument

Actually I wanted to visit the view from St Paul´s Cathedral, but that would have cost me 16 Pound.
Instead of the cathedral I walked further 10 minutes to The Monument where I climbed the 311 steps to the platform. That cost me 4 Pound and the view was great - I even got a certificate that I´ve been there. :)

London - Temple Of Agape

"This temple created by artists Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan is made up of hundreds of large hand-painted flag-like signs, covered in words about love, in a riot of bright colours. It provides a place for celebration and shared thoughts.
Tying into the Agape theme – love of humanity – the temple represents the power of love to conquer hate." (source)
Personally these flags made me think about the hungarian artist Victor Vasarely.

London City

This post is about a walk through London City from Victoria Station to The Monument and back along the River Thames.

On The Bus To London

When going to London I usually take the bus from Stansted Airport to Victoria Station - it is the cheapest way to do it.
This is a collection of "out-of-the-bus-pics" - even with persons this time :P

Bremen - Harbour Pt2

Weekend. I took my bicycle and rode to Überseestadt, an area of the harbour in Bremen. Several years ago one of the basins was filled up. At first is was declared to become a nature reserve. Later big investments were made to make the area as important as the London Docklands.
Along the old basin one can still see the graffiti made by the sailors as they were painting the ships.
Here is another post with pics from the harbour.

Nick Drake

I heard the music from Nick Drake for the first time 1,5 years ago - by that time he already had been dead since roundabout 40 years :(
Here are some of my favorites.

Cello Song
Fruit Tree
Riverman
Three Hours
Things Behind The Sun

Sussex - Highdown Hill

80 metres above the sea, and a view which stretches as far as to Seaford and the Seven Sisters :)
Highdown Hill, rich on history, even with a smuggler´s tomb is nowadays a favorite place for dogwalkers.
For me it´s a great place to lay down in the grass and let the warm wind stroke my skin.
By the way, this post is part 18 of Emptying The Dog :)

I have always liked the early Pink Floyd. Now I understood that I fell for the creative and strange songs written by Syd Barrett.
On the vid below the whole record, The Madcap Laughs, the first record released as solo artist.
Underneath my favorites from that record. If you want early Pink Floyd songs, mostly written by Syd Barrett - some of my favorites are still playing on this link.

Emptying The Dog, Pt16

Yes? Really?
It is. It is time for emptying the dog again :)
Take a walk with me into the surroundings of Angmering in West Sussex. Watch the flowers and enjoy the sunshine on this beautiful day of summer.

Happy Birthday Tetris :)

Today 30 years ago Tetris was designed and programmed by Alexey Pajitnow. I remember playing it in 1986 :) Here is a link to an original version.
