It was another sunny day in London, and I took a walk from the markets at Covent Garden over Leicester Square to Piccadilly Circus.

Brighton - Mods And Rockers

As I saw Quadrophenia for the first time several years ago, I didn´t really understand what it was about.
Then I started with my plan to make a journey to Brighton. A dear friend sent me this article and I did some researches.
The "Battle of Brighton" took place in the early sixties as two subcultures, the Mods and the Rockers met in Brighton, read about it here and here.

Jacques Tati - Monsieur Hulot - Pt2

Mon oncle was another nice movie made by Jacques Tati. Once again he acts Monsieur Hulot.
The movie came out in 1958, and it shows us the modern, sterile, impersonal and automated life in France after the war.
Monsieur Hulot himself still lives in his old fashioned and relaxed world. He has a good relation to his nephew, but Hulot´s sister isn´t fond of that. She tries to get him to work, and want to pair him off to a lady in the neighbourhood.
In the end Hulot is sent to North-Africa in order to work as agent.
Like I did in my last Tati-post, I will try to join the different Youtube videos in the right way.

After all those years of going to flea markets my collection of postcards has grown quite big :) On the first day of this year I want to present all my cards from Berlin. All of them are older as I fancy 50ies to 70ies style. Enjoy watching!
